Phil

I was reading about this today so I thought I’d share it with you. Does this happen to you? I know it does to me. Dweezil and the ensemble cause many of these moments. Actually it happens a lot to me during live performance

For me, Black Napkins, WIEH, Zoot Allures,

Frisson (/ˈfrɪsən/ FRISS-ən;[1] French for "shiver"), also known as aesthetic chills or musical chills, is a psychophysiological response to rewarding auditory and/or visual stimuli that often induces a pleasurable or otherwise positively-valenced affective state and transient paresthesia (skin tingling or chills), sometimes along with piloerection (goose bumps) and mydriasis (pupil dilation).[2][3][4][5] The sensation commonly occurs as a mildly to moderately pleasurable emotional response to music with skin tingling;[2] piloerection and pupil dilation do not necessarily occur in all cases.[4][5] The psychological component (i.e., the pleasurable feeling) and physiological components (i.e., paresthesia, piloerection, and pupil dilation) of the response are mediated by the reward system and sympathetic nervous system, respectively.[4][5] The stimuli that produce this response are specific to each individual.

The two times Dweezil surprise announced Vinnie Coliauta to sit in. The second time Ike Willis was already out singing half the show!

Phil

Scooby do where are you?

Hey Dweezil,

i was wondering since you’re going through all of these great shows and stuff, if you ever recorded the 1 show you did with Flo & Eddie in Woodstock? And if so wii it ever see the light of day?

Dweezil

I have a recording of it. It didn't turn out great. Not sure if there would be anything worth exploring from that performance.

Phil

Don’t you miss Saturday morning cartoons? I remember back in 1974 (probably watching Johnny Quest) at commercial time I was introduced to the talking dog. Talking about Frank Zappa’s new album Apostrophe, I have an apostrophe (never understood it but I had one). Next trip to the record store I purchased my first FZ album and i’ve Never looked back!

Dweezil and the band turned Apostrophe into a monster (pictured above) definitely one of the highlights of the show. The hair on the back of my neck still stands at attention when I hear this number ..... Saturday morning cartoons and the Hot Rats Orchestra 2 things missing this morning

discuss .............

Dweezil

I loved the Saturday morning cartoons. Plus we had people in costume shows like HR Puff N Stuff.

Phil

Funny I was thinking about HR Puffnstuff (with danger island) .... then it came to me Puffin Stuff ... what the heck was they Puffin?

Loved those Saturday morning cartoons too!

Phil

Gonna find that HR (hand rolled) Puffnstuff link

Morning, to everyone here. Thanks for letting me join this fine group of folks!

Erick B

Hello all out there in Zappa land and thank you Dweezil for keeping Zappa music alive and striving.  My question is for Dweezil in particular.  Will the 2010 Apostrophe show be available for physical purchase when released, Blu-Ray perhaps or just available digitally through your site with subscription?

May the Excentrifugal Forz be with you...

Erick B.

Good night Austin Texas, wherever you are!

John(Lizweedus)

I am sure (totally) that the Roundhouse show should be released on CD and not only but also DVD. Whaddya think peoples ?

Dweezil

I have some video footage of one of my roundhouse shows. I have to see if the hard drives still spin.

Dweezil

Hope you are all having a great weekend. We are working hard behind the scenes to make the meeting place much more interactive. I would love to turn it into a place to have a regularly scheduled live chat.

That would be great

Phil

Sad day! RIP EVH legendary

Phil

It’s a wonderful day in the neighbourhood..... have a great day y’all!

John(Lizweedus)

Great to be back in the land of The Z. Super stoked . So miss the DZ/band performances.

I'm glad to be a part of this, Dweezil. I am a Zappaphile and love what Frank did and you're doing.

I'm still trying to find my way around here, so apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere, but I have a Silver level subscription, which implies there are other levels of subscription, but I can't find any information on that. Am I missing something?

Richard Drakes

Dweezil has written elsewhere that there will eventually be Gold and Platinum subscriptions, but Silver is what we have for now.

CrownJules

OK.  Thanks Richard!

Dweezil

I'm putting together all of the content for the other plans. It will take a little while before I launch them. I have hundreds of audio tracks to go through and a lot of video content as well. You will see things like apostophe(') Live, Roxy Live (the whole Roxy album plus much more including Billy The Mountain), Hoggsbreath Live in Austin Texas and various other shows from the past decade. You'll be seeing a lot of cool and exclusive stuff soon.

CrownJules

Sounds great (and I'm sure it will)!  Something to look forward to.

Phil

YO! Great to be back at DZW ...... hope all are well after all the fun, I was days away from my 3rd Hot Rats show when all this happened. I have posted a ton of pics some oldies, hot rats opening night. I also posted the Buffalo Thunderstorm show, wasn't that a blast! Good cheer, glad to be here, F the rest, cause

Music is the Best!
