Hi Dweezil- loved the Sunset Sound Studio interview (all three hours of it).  It was so poignant to hear you speak about the space itself and the notes that are still hanging around as well as the spirits of those who recorded there (especially your dad recording Hot Rats). From 1974-78 when I was in college I often played with a drummer, Steve Brown and a bass player, David Merrill (son of opera star Robert Merrill and David was the bass player for the Ramones offshoot band, the Rattlers (the drummer of which was Mitch Leigh, brother of Joey Ramone). Steve got a gig as maintenance engineer at Electric Lady Studios, so he was able to score studio time. He was working on a cover of Boogie Oogie Oogie and called me to track rhythm and lead guitar tracks. Needless to say halfway through the first pass, I froze and then screamed out, “Holy Shit! This is where Jimi tracked Electric Ladyland”. It took me about twenty minutes to compose myself before I could finish my tracks. Jimi’s spirit was in that room. I am sure being interviewed at Sunset Sound Studio 2 was a profound experience- it was fun listening to it.

Hey now. Finally logged in and starting to explore. Trying to learn about the site, the community and the benefits of signing up. I love the concept and have been listening to DZ and FZ since the late 80s when I bought My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama. Saw DZ's recent interview promoting the Runnin With The Dweezil podcast and thought it was overdue to log in and check Reward out.

I saw the new Zappa documentary today... I think I know why you were not involved...you should have been the first person interviewed...because you have kept his music alive...and turned it on to a new generation...thanks again...hope to see you guys soon...dd

Hi Dweezil and fellow fans, I was  thinking what could I post that was fun. So I delved deep into the recesses of my memory and recalled a show your dad promoted to give a little culture to us freaks in NYC. The music of Edgard Varese. The draw was Frank would be hosting wearing a tuxedo. Not only entertaining but an incredible experience. After the show Frank hung out with the audience answering questions, shaking hands, and signing autographs.
