"Go With What You Know" was made as a soundtrack album.  Love Ride is a futuristic story of Alien contact and the only song on the album with vocals.

"NOITPURE" is ERUPTION spelled backward. This unaccompanied guitar solo is an homage to the legendary Van Halen solo recording.

"Fightey Bitey" was the name of one of my cats growing up.  She was black and white with long fur.  If you made the mistake of ignoring her when she wanted your attention you would get bitten.  Somehow, the aggressive nature of this song reminded me of her.

The open WOOP WOOP sound is what inspired this song.  It informed the arranged and rhythm of the track.  It is random noise generated by a guitar effects box called the G-Force by TC Electronics.  The acoustic guitar part is played by guitar wunderkind Blues Saraceno.  I programmed the keyboard solo.

I wrote this piece of music so I could teach myself about orchestration.  It was the very first piece of music I wrote without picking up any instruments. I programmed it all on my computer.

** Fun fact - This composition was performed by the NNO (Dutch Orchestra) live on stage during 2 concerts that featured my classical music in December, 2017.

Originally recorded during the "Shampoohorn" sessions, this track features Terry Bozzio on drums.  I wrote the song on an acoustic guitar that I used to string up with light gauge electric guitar strings.  I added orchestral instruments via midi programming.

This track features a Steinberger guitar with a trans-trem. It allowed me to play the baritone range parts of the song.

Blues Saraceno plays some lead guitar with me as well.

Prior to starting the first Zappa Plays Zappa tour, this album was completed.  This "Inca Roads" inspired song was a place to try out some of my new guitar vocabularies.

This song features a foundation of acoustic guitar and synthesizers.  Looped harmonics and filtered drums help bring this hybrid tune together.

This song is one of the heaviest songs on the record while also staying groovy.  I used a Gretsch Sparkle jet for the rhythm part.  It's the only time I ever played a Gretsch.  TJ Helmerich plays a guest solo.

This is a unique version of "Peaches En Regalia."  The actual Hot Rats multi-track recording was utilized to make this recording.  I played many of the horn and organ parts on guitar as well as playing electric guitar note for note alongside my dad during the famous acoustic solo.

This version also allows the listener to hear my dad speak before the take and after the take, just like it happened during the original session.  Other musical passages that did not make it to the original find their way into this version, including a bass solo part played by my dad, during the bridge breakdown.

Also, the intro to the song is acoustic guitar recorded backward.  It sounds like a bowed string section.

This song is another fun mix of acoustic guitar, synthesizers, and drum loops.  It's one of the very few songs where I play fingerpicking style.

This song features wall to wall texture changes both sonically and musically.  I was asked to compose it as a soundtrack for a modern dance performance.  I was given a piece of paper with a hand-scribbled graph of energy peaks on a timeline.  That was the only instruction I had.  This is the music that came from that piece of paper.

I still have this on CD as well. Great disc. I still think " Automatic " is a little bit better of an album but GFWYK has some awesome moments as well.

So nice to hear this again, somehow the CD was lost between home, car and work... Never seen it again...
