Dweezil I have the old “Z” ep that had your original mix of “Purple Guitar”. I was wondering if you could elaborate on the accompanying 43+ minute live version of “My Beef Mailbox”. What was the story/intention? It sounds like you had so much fun playing around and mixing all those different takes together.
Of all of the music DZ has made, this is my all time favorite disc. There is so many different audio " movies " ( i.e. atmospheres ) here. I would have to say " Purple Guitar " is my all time favorite tune as well ( the interplay as well as the progression of the tune is powerful ). And, it's nice to hear Blues Saraceno make an appearance on the album as well ( he's another favorite of mine ). Grand album.

What guitar did you use on Secret Hedges?
My dad's Martin acoustic. The strings were about 20 years old and had a cool buzz that happened on the b string.
Oh, hey! Purple Guitar is like an Eddie Van Halen song! I didn't get it earlier, but I've only heard the song three times so far.
I've always loved this album and Purple Guitar is my absolute favorite track. I think it dates back to Dweezil's Z days.
I believe it was Bryan Beller's audition song.
Purple Guitar is just a top tune
