Should we be concerned about silicon dioxide in supplements?

As far as I know, inhaling it (sand particles?) can be very harmful and is definitely not recommended. However, after doing some research on ingestion, I found no concrete evidence of its harm to humans. Furthermore, it's even sold as a dietary supplement ("silicon"), which, if I'm not mistaken, has some effect on hair or nails.
Does anyone have more detailed information on this?

What you write is completely logical. Sand and especially silica microparticles can be really harmful, especially when it comes to fine dust that deepens in the lungs. On the other hand, when used as silica such substances or e551 used as food attached, research in recent years has shown that in the quantity of ingredients through food, they are generally considered safe.
