Cheapest way to ship a car across the country?
I'm moving from the West Coast to the East Coast next month and I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to ship my car. But I'm not in a rush, so whatever works for me, I can wait. I have an older Subaru Outback, so open shipping is fine, I just want the car to arrive in decent condition.
I've seen that terminal to terminal shipping is cheaper than door to door, but I've never tried it. Also, have you heard about combining it with a delivery service or a moving capsule if that's possible?
For your old Subaru, open delivery is a normal option, most people do it because it's much cheaper than closed. Terminal-terminal will also save money, just allow time and cross-country automobile transportation quote to drive the car to the drop-off point yourself and then pick it up at the destination. There is no need to worry about the condition of the car, open transportation is the standard, cars arrive in normal condition, at most a little dust from the road. You can combine transportation with a capsule or cargo, but you need to clarify this separately.
Thanks for mentioning terminal to terminal delivery, I hadn't thought about that before and the idea of combining it with a mobile capsule does seem practical.
