My replicas of the guitars from the first Van Halen album

These are photos of me and two of my favorite guitars that I use to transcribe material from the first two Van Halen albums and in the case of the Destroyer ‘Women and Children First’. These pictures were taken at the shop of my longtime friend and guitar technician Dan Douglass in League City, TX. He’s been working on my instruments and finding me gear and generally making miracles happen since I first walked into his shop in 1986 when I was 14.

This began life as a vintage late ‘75 or early ‘76 Ibanez Destroyer. This is indicated by the absence of a serial number on the back of the headstock...which corresponds to the Destroyers that Eddie and Chris Holmes bought....

I used a earliest period correct Charvel logo on this guitar instead of the Gibson logo that Ed used...just my little quirk, even though the first guitar to ever have a Charvel logo on the headstock was the yellow and black...
