Dirty rotten failing hard drives.... love ya dweez!

Sean L.

I can listen to Steve and Dweezil all night. Such great people. I've been lucky enough to meet Dweezil 3 times, twice with my daughter, and he has been such a generous guy.

Seasons Greetings from 'Down Under' Dweezil...what an awesome package you've put together! Big fan of yours for a long time, and we actually have a mutual friend down here in Melbourne-town. I actually found some very good Kemper VH profiles, that I used when I was asked to headline at last years Melbourne Guitar Show to play all of VH1 album from start to finish. (If you want to hear how they translated on the gig, you can see the show here bit.ly/2UHABOz

I ended up tweaking them a bit of course to get them even closer to the record, and so would be more than happy to hand them over to you for your '5150 package' materials if you like? - after all, everyone should get to enjoy them.

Thank you again sir, for bringing us all together. Grieving Eddie was pretty rough down here in Melbourne, because we were in full lockdown at the time, and so could not get together even with one person to raise a glass. Your podcast bringing all sorts of wonderful players together is a BIG help.

Peace and Loves,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the kind words! I watched your concert and it was great! It's not easy playing those songs! I also liked your own additions in the outro of House Of Pain. When it comes time to do the episode on the reverse engineering the Brown Sound it would great to include your presets for the Kemper folks! Once again, great playing! Best, DZ

Merry Xmas! What a gift you've given us. If all you got for $51.50 were the two Steve Vai episodes... it would still be well worth the money. What an amazing 2 hours or so of praise, admiration and the detailed dissection of Edward's music. Wow!!  Thank you Dweezil and of course thank you Steve.

This is a gonna be a long one, bear with..Wife got me 5150 Bundle for Xmas. I'm listening to the first episode, and I love it. I don't know how I'll fare with Billy Corgan talking about Fair Warning, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, lol..

So, I'm a metalhead guitarist who loves Ibanez 7's, especially the Universe (Thanks, Steve). And people who know me know I also love the first 4 VH albums immensely. So, to honour Eddie and still be able to play gigs with my 7's, I'm repainting Ibanez 7's with EVH classic paint jobs. Pic of Bee7 is down below. Also doing a Universe Frankie. Probably sacrilegious but I don't give too much of a shit.

Dweez, your first time touring Melbourne Aus with ZPZ, you asked the audience to come up with a name of a song that you were going to make up right on the spot. I think you had Ray White as guest vocalist at the time..Anyways, I stood up and yelled, "I'm getting married tomorrow!" Which was true, you and I had  had a small chat (wife was not with me, but I took her to the ZPZ tour after that, and she GOT IT), and you played a song you made up on the spot. It was lovely!! Her Frank 'fave' era is different to mine, but we both love Frank. So much so I have Frank tattooed on my left forewarm. It's been about 14 years, and yes, still married. Getting EVH tattooed on my right forerarm when I find "thee pic."

I never saw Frank live, but I wished I had. I wished I had seen VH sooner. First gig I saw was 1984, I was 15. My musical heroes are Frank and EVH. There's a fun-ness to their music. Every band I've been in has that spirit. And that is a direct Frank influence.

And lastly, mad respect for your guitar progression. In the beginning you pretty much wore EVH on your sleeve. Now, with the Gambale economy picking and you having to learn Frank's music, you're pretty much a beast on guitar and in my opinion underrated, which is bullshit. I thank the universe for you being here.

Hi Doug, Thanks for joining in on the podcast and thanks for the kind words! Congratulations on 14 years of marriage! Nice tattoo! I think you'll like the Billy Corgan episode, Fair Warning is his favorite Van Halen album. BTW his signature amp (Grace) from Carstens amplification is very VH and sounds killer. I have one in my studio and I love it.

Yo!! Yeah, I'm sure Billy's fine. I have a cold and I'm grumpy. The WACF stuff with you and Blues Saraceno is great!! You guys sound like friends in real life. You guys should do a podcast together. How tight are you two? WACF is probably my fave album, and Fools is the goddamn bomb. Catch!
