Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! I was spending time with my daughters for the last 8 days so I have not been online at all. It was great to spend 8 days in a row with my daughters and Megan. Now it's time to get back to juggling work and family! Always tricky... In any case, I'm getting ready to learn a bunch of new material I have chosen for the upcoming tours and I've got to work on creating sounds for all of them as well. So much to do, so little time.

As far as music goes, I've listened to a whole lot of stuff that is off the beaten path and found some engaging favorites in the mix. One of the tunes I'm particularly intrigued by is "Mother People" from We're Only In It For The Money. The bluesy acoustic guitar lick and doubled clav line keep getting stuck in my head. There's an interesting scansion to the lyrics and I'm really looking forward to presenting this tune with my rocking teen age combo. That and several other mysterious tunes from the early days.

I've also been busy assembling a new FOH CD compilation. It will likely have over 20 songs across 2 discs. I found the best sounding FOH mixes available from my archive and I focused on some of the songs that were featured for short periods on tour. Songs like, "Suzy Creamcheese", "Brown Shoes Don't Make It", "The Little House I Used To Live In", "The Mammy Anthem" & "I'm A Beautiful Guy".

There are some tour staples added in there to balance it out but overall the collection is intended to display the depth and variety in my dad's music and the broad capabilities of ZPZ.

With a good amount of luck it will be available in the first quarter of the year. With even more luck the FOH library will be available for individual selection by the 3rd quarter of 2012.

In other news, besides auditioning guitar stomp boxes for all of the new material for ZPZ and the upcoming Experience Hendrix tour I've found myself half way through composing an orchestral composition of my own. I hope to bring it to life on stage before the end of 2012.

I'll keep you all updated on these and other projects when there is more news to share.

Regards, DZ
