Hardware change broke my activation

    I recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU, and now Windows says my copy isn’t genuine. I thought linking my license to my Microsoft account would prevent this issue, but apparently not. The activation troubleshooter can’t find the old license either. Has anyone successfully reactivated Windows after a major hardware change?

    After I did a major hardware upgrade myself, I experimented with a kmspico for windows 11 setup in a test environment to understand why activation fails after changes like a new motherboard or CPU. It really highlights how Windows ties the license to the hardware and why simply linking to a Microsoft account sometimes isn’t enough. Seeing the process in action helped me figure out legitimate ways to re-activate without guessing, and it made me appreciate how sensitive the system is to hardware changes.
